Celebrating award-winning healthcare environments across New Zealand

We celebrate the success of three standout healthcare projects by Cubro Opritech clients.

Congratulations to The Rutherford Clinic, Endoscopy Auckland and Endoscopy on Clarence for their recognition as gold award winners in the Health category at the 2026 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards. Each project reflects the complexity, precision and collaboration needed to deliver modern clinical environments that work beautifully for patients, clinical teams and the wider project partners involved.

Healthcare spaces are never simple builds. They need to support safe workflows, strict compliance requirements, specialist equipment, efficient patient movement and a calm experience for people who may be arriving with uncertainty or discomfort. When these environments are delivered well, the result is more than a building. It’s a clinical setting that helps healthcare teams do their best work.

The Rutherford Clinic, Wellington

The Rutherford Clinic at 167 Thorndon Quay is a strong example of what happens when smart planning, technical detail and clinical design come together. The project required careful coordination across seismic upgrades, a specialist fit-out, access constraints and demanding services integration.

A major feature was the installation of modular glass-walled endoscopy suites by our team. These advanced clinical spaces required months of fabrication and detailed coordination to retrofit them into the heritage building with its limited access. It required a level of precision and careful planning that we’ve become known for..

For us, The Rutherford Clinic is exactly the kind of project that shows where healthcare interiors are heading: more flexible, refined and focused on the people using them every day. Watch the video to hear from the client how they are making a difference in day-to-day operations.

Endoscopy Auckland, Kipling Avenue

Endoscopy Auckland’s Kipling Avenue facility was delivered on a constrained suburban site. The project team balanced a high-spec medical brief with the realities of a sensitive residential setting.

Compact clinical rooms, detailed services coordination and careful staging were all critical to the success of the build. The finished facility supports specialist healthcare delivery in the community, while also achieving strong sustainability outcomes, including a 5 Star Green Star rating and more than 90% construction waste diversion.

Cubro Opritech contributed to this project through the supply of clinical pendants, supporting the operational performance of treatment spaces where reliability, access and workflow matter. Ongoing collaboration with base build and trades ensured the whole project came together to achieve the client’s deadlines and achieve the opening date on schedule.

Endoscopy on Clarence, Hamilton

Another impressive example of specialist healthcare infrastructure delivered in a challenging environment, is Endoscopy on Clarence. Built boundary to boundary on a central Hamilton site, the three-storey facility required tight coordination, careful staging and a sharp focus on clinical performance.

The project balanced technical rigour with a welcoming environment, using natural light, considered design and carefully resolved building systems. All combine to support both patient experience and efficient clinical delivery. Cubro Opritech installed two full operating theatres with pendants, surgical lights, system control and scrub bay. We were also responsible for design and installation of the medical gas pipeline.

Proud to support high-performing healthcare spaces

These awards recognise the work of many talented teams. They can include owners and clinicians through to architects, builders, engineers, project managers and specialist suppliers.

We’re proud to work alongside healthcare providers and project partners who are raising the bar for clinical environments. Congratulations again to The Rutherford Clinic, Endoscopy Auckland and Endoscopy on Clarence. Your recognition is well deserved. We’re excited to see these spaces supporting better healthcare delivery for years to come.
